U-pick strawberry fields are OPEN for the 2017 season. Peak picking will be around the first and second week in May. Located in the heart of the Hickory section of Chesapeake, 2.5 miles heading south of the Edinburgh section of on Battlefield Blvd, just past the Ruritan Club. Farm Hours are 9 AM to 6 PM Monday through Saturday. 12 PM to 5 PM Sunday. Call Robin at 757-560-6763 for more info!!
During the weekends: strawberry picking, hayrides, bounce house, friendly farm animals, pony rides, barrel train rides, picnic tables, concessions and the farm stand with produce and homemade goodies are open. U-pick strawberries are by the pound and pre-picked are available as well. Hickory Ridge Farm also offers birthday parties and private events on the farm.
During the weekdays: Educational Strawberry Picking Field Trips are available on the farm and are generally scheduled in the mornings. The fields are open to the public at this time as well. Playgroups and school groups are welcome, call ahead to let us know you are coming. The play area for the kids, friendly farm animals and farm stand are also open during the weekdays.
Strawberry JAMboree Event scheduled for May 13, 2017 from 10am-4pm. U-pick Strawberries, bounce house, hayrides, pony rides, farm animals, face painting, barrel train rides, local vendors, food trucks, music, photo ops, and more!!

old Country スタイルのお店Cracker Barrelのご紹介です。
レストランなんですが、雑貨等が売っており、待ち時間や食事が終わってからの楽しみです。
普段はあまり見かけないビンの飲み物やお菓子・服・おもちゃなども売っています。面白い雑貨も売っているので、楽しいですよ。

行ったのが、モーニングだったので、モーニングのメニューしか写真は撮れなかったのですが、リンクのHPからメニューも見れます。
ちょっと茶色いですが、ビスケットです。
１９６９年にオープンしたCracker Barrelは名前の通り、
カントリースタイルのお店です。
古き良きアメリカンスタイルですね。

今週は曇りマークばかりのバージニアです。
アメリカの肉肉しい美味しいハンバーガーのご紹介です。
ビーチから歩いて５分の場所にある、Barです。ハンバーガーはお肉は肉汁が詰まっており、また余計な油は落とされているのでさっぱりも食べれます。
アパタイザーで頼んだプティーン。
ポテトもソースも美味！！
店内はカウンター席・テーブル席（高さあり）４テーブル
テラス席があります。
店内はシンプルでお洒落です。
まだ寒い季節に行った為お客さんは少ないですが、
海のシーズンは人気の高いお店です。

明日はBen&Jerry'sのFree corn Day!!雨予報ですが、久ぶりにビーチまでお散歩。
Chesapeak City Parkのご紹介です。
木も高く立っている為、日差しも少し遮られここち良かったです。
アメリカカラーの遊具ではなく、木製になっている遊具なので、懐かしい感じもありました。
子供向け遊具も充実しています。
写真は公園の一部の遊具のある場所のみの撮影ですが、外に出るとバスケコートなどもあります。ゲート内にはベンチ、テーブルもあるので、ゆっくり座る事もできます。
また、ゲート外にもランチなど食べれるテーブルがたくさんあります。
最初の写真にありますが、４月１５日はこの公園でイースターのイベントが行われるそうです。
